Somewhat Special

Firstly I must bring you up to speed, my week turned out just fine. Thanks for your prayers, I knew it would work; to have faith in God is what is all about.
What a great day I have had, my grandson Seth turns nine on the 15th so we had a pre birthday party today. We, that is Jenny and I went down to my son’s house to spend the day with my family. It started early, little guys can’t wait long after they wake up to open their presents. What a grand morning it was too, a bit cold, but not a cloud in sight. We left our apartment before eight and by the time we arrived he was ready and waiting. As usual he had a good few to open and all one saw was paper been torn and lots of smiles from all who was there. I have so much to be thankful for, a loving family who can share moments like this. We got home about four after all the eating and drinking. The tea and cake was followed by a most tasty braai which had its normal affects of not having a space for anything tonight.
I am very family orientated, and this brings me to a point of sharing a bit our lives with you. I find it a lot easier to concentrate on traditions which hold my beliefs and customs together. Like the cross that Jesus was crucified on symbolises our salvation, we have a ‘family circle’ that does the same for my family. It is has seven figures, linked arms, standing around a candle. When we are together at home it is lit at table as we enjoy our meal together. I am sure you have heard the saying “the ones who eat together, say together. I must say it might only be a saying but it has worked for us. Modern life has taken its toll and not many eat together anymore. It grab and a plate and eat in front of the TV for most. I do urge you to try it, no TV and all sit down together and tell of what has happened to you that day. After a few days you bound to look forward to the evening meal. I am sure if you look around you, you too may have many items that symbolises something special for you. I am sure you are saying well that is all old fashion what has that got to do with leading a good life. Well to me it brings a bit of something special to your family of which nobody else does the same, so that makes us somewhat special.
